The Muskrat Falls Project is expected to take 4 years, and an estimated 500,000 cubic meters of concrete and 26,000 metric tones of reinforcing steel is expected to be used.
Astaldi Group was set up in the 1920s when engineer Sante Astaldi established the one-man firm “Ing. Sante Astaldi”, a construction company that worked mainly on large-scale civil works contracts in Italy.
According to ENR (Engineering News Record) tables, Astaldi is the 18th contractor in the world in the water supply sector and holds the 4th position as regards waterworks.
